I was born in Sinop on July 2, 1984 and 10 years later I found myself in Sinop Karadeniz Sailing Club.

on a sunny horizon, in turbulent water
white sparkles optimists.
my soul is fidgeting like its sails
I am feeling; the seas are waiting for me.

I was a 10-year-old kid, I didn't know what to do, how to do it. There was only one thing I knew, or rather felt; I should have been on that sea, in one of those boats!

My sailing adventure, which started with the NW wind I had and the sea water I swallowed that day, has continued until today, by holding the helm on more than 100 different boats and reaching the World Cup Championship.

“He cannot do heavy sports!” warnings and “if you go sailing, don't come home tonight!” Despite his warnings, my love of the sea and my curiosity about sailing, which I had just begun to discover, pinned me to the bottom of my sailboat. I sailed until I was out of breath. Because every time I was out of breath, the wind would definitely come to my rescue. I was filling my lungs and sailing with the winds, and I felt stronger when I was on the boat.

I never took a break from sailing throughout my secondary and high school life, I escaped to the sea whenever I could. As my breathing got stronger, I started to get approval from my family for sailing, and as I returned to my hometown with trophies and medals, I started to enjoy this sport more. But now I had to go to university and leave Sinop. Maybe I could leave Sinop, but never sailing!

After the Black Sea, I had to learn about the seas and winds of the Marmara…

During my student years until I graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Econometrics, which I entered in 2003, I worked as an athlete at Fenerbahçe Sports Club Sailing Branch, as an athlete and Head Coach at Galatasaray Sports Club Sailing Branch.

The winds were growing, I was growing…

I continued my career as a National Team Coach in the Turkish Sailing Federation, where I worked between 2008-2010. During my duty as the Turkish National Sailing Team Coach, I was at the forefront of my athletes who brought important degrees to our country, including the European Championship, in the Balkan, European and World Championships Team Races.

The waters were widening…

After Marmara, I started sailing in the Aegean and in 2010 I founded the Team Red and White Sailing Team and TRW Sailing Center in Izmir Cesme. TRW Sailing Center, which has gained sporting success by participating in yacht races in Bodrum and Marmaris regions in a short time, has been operating for 3 years and has provided the opportunity to provide sailing training to nearly 1000 children and adults.

This time the winds started calling me from the Mediterranean and beyond…

In 2013, I competed with the Turkish sailboat Only Now (German Frers Design-107 feet) at the Rolex Supermaxi World Championship held in Porto Cervo-Italy. Between 2014-2015, I worked as the National Teams Sporting Coordinator in the Turkish Sailing Federation. Youth National & I did the international organization and performance management of the Olympic National Teams.

And I changed my course from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic…

In 2016, I took part in the team of Ekrem Ä°nözü with Anouk (Swan 57), the 2nd Turkish sailboat in the history of Turkish sailing, at Cape Horn, the southernmost point of the South American continent, which is considered the Everest of World Sailing. In the same year, I became a Member of the Board of the Turkish Sailing Federation.

In 2016, I joined my life with Deniz KaramanoÄŸlu, who is a sailor like myself. In 2017, our first child, Atlas, and in 2020, our second child, Azur, came to Earth.

In 2019, I was the Skipper & Steering Wheel of the team that won the Corinthian category Championship in the Melges 32 class World Cup Barcelona leg, which I participated with the Gökova Sailing Club, and the third prize in the Melges 32 class World Championship held in Valencia.

In the Gökova Sailing Club, where I have been the Vice President since 2015, I became the Club President in 2023.

On September 29, 2021, I started my life's biggest dream, a world trip with a sailboat, with my wife and 2 sons by throwing the ropes from KaracasöÄŸüt/Marmaris, and on 22 December 2022, I crossed the 2200-mile Atlantic Ocean and reached the Caribbean. So far, we have left about 7000 nautical miles in our wake.

I am still working as the General Manager of Global Marin A.Åž., where I started working in 2015.

Along with my ongoing world travel, my professional life and my Club Presidency, I started Yacht Brokering by establishing my own company, Mora Yachting, on 01 June 2023.

The adventure continues.…
